Just downloaded and installed Office to my new Windows 8 machine. Every time I try to use one of the Office products I receive the following message:. A problem caused the program to stop working microsoft excel 2013 stopped working in windows 7 free download. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. In the situation, we may determine if the Excel can work in safe mode.
Following the steps below:. I just downloaded the Office Home suite and started with Outlook and what you describe microsoft excel 2013 stopped working in windows 7 free download happened. I followed the suggestion below and turned off all the Add-Ins and it then worked fine. Then tried Excel, and it also would do nothing beyond crash immediately.
No Add-Ins were turned-on, and so it still will not open. Tried Word, same thing happened, there were Add-Ins on and turned them off So, the weird one is that Excel has none turned on, so there microsoft excel 2013 stopped working in windows 7 free download nothing to turn off.
I did the Repair suggestion and I'll try the microsoft excel 2013 stopped working in windows 7 free download Repair". Somethin's gotta give. This much work to get these programs working is really stupid. I was having this issue with Excel on my windows 8 pc. When I used the safe mode workaround, it would open but when I looked at the add-ons all of them were already disabled. Problem solved! Hope this helps you! I am having the same problem with my windows 8 even in the desktop mode.
It ran all of the office products in the beginning, now it won't run them. Says the same thing as above.
Tried the excel. I got the same problem. I had a presentation in my class and connected my laptop running Windows 8 with my school's digital projector. It was plug and play and I didn't see it install any driver or software, or so I thought. Then tonight I couldn't open any Office applications.
But I got the message again every time I try to run Office applications normally. I looked into the Add-ins section in Option menu, there's no external add-ins.
The only add-ins are microsoft excel's native and they can't be disabled. I right clicked the excel shortcut in the start menu and selected 'run as administrator' amd it worked for me. In my case at lease it appears to heve been some kind of permissions issue. Hello, I'm having the same issue as well and it's unbelievable that once again, MSFT makes things that don't get along.
I just loaded Office onto my newly installed Windows 8 box. At first, all was fine. A microsoft excel 2013 stopped working in windows 7 free download of days later I get this error for all of my Office products.
I went as far as reinstalling the OS all over again and got the same result. First it works and now it doesn't. I had to use Google Docs just to create a spreadsheet last night. I tried Running as Administrator and it still crashes. I have no Add-ins to disable because it's a clean install. The sad thing here is, that once again to fix a MSFT product you have to tweak it microsoft excel 2013 stopped working in windows 7 free download work.
Don't know if the problem microsoft excel 2013 stopped working in windows 7 free download Windows 8 or Office but Office worked perfectly when I was running Windows 7. I share the frustration of previous users. My operating system is Vista, but the bug is present even here. I do not have any addin or Epson printer installed. Everythins is working in Office excepting Excel, which crashes on exiting.
After this site, I have searched several other sites, and I have found this site, which shows a solution, which I have tested without understanding what it means to change that register key and it works, so I am happy and I will share with you. Found the problem: it is also related to the Addins from bluetooth. Thanks to Martinvgb2 from Microsoft TechNet.
Thank you very much for the useful hint. I had the same problem with the Office trial version only Powerpoint could start, but Excel and Word crashed and I thought first the trial version had some bugs.
Then I bought and installed Office Home and Student and the same problem occurred. I tried the safe mode and it indeed started but no add-ins were checked. Many thanks for the tip. Even I managed to follow this and now Excel and Word are working fine. This happened some 6 years ago and as my memory gets a bit more rusty every year, it took me sometime to remember.
Both instances were with my wife's machine, so you can understand the situation. I spent into the early hours search forums like this and trying all sorts of fixes that are listed. In the end, the fix that fixed the problem was to renew the user profile. That is, register anew user, then transfer all of the files from the corrupted user profile to the new profile. Not an easy job, but doable for most of us who are technologically challenged. If anyone wants to try this, then just remember that there three types of files that are not copied over.
The following site gives the process. Remember that Favorites, email messages and contacts also need to be copied over. This fix may not necessarily be the solution for everyone's issues with Office applications freezing, but it fixed mine.
I am still using Office and it's a great suite of programs. Should still be working after I'm long gone. I have googled the problem and it seems pretty common one, so not quite sure why Microsoft won;t address the issue Thankyou for this it worked for me Would never have guessed this in a million year Thank you for sharing! I could not get either program to start in safe mode. Thank you, was having the same problem as I just bought a new Epson printer.
Removing the FineReader was all I needed to do. Thanks for the tip. I also uninstalled it and all Microsoft programs now work again. I have a new Dell with Windows 8. I had this problem from yesterday noon after the installation of Japanese printer. My computer is Lenovo Yoga, and Windows 8. I spent many hours but all failed. After reading this tip I suddenly understood that the root cause may be the printer driver.
Anyway I removed printer driver this morning and Excel works! I agree, the program is great, just messing up other things I need to use. Got same issue with a client of mine. I tryed every solution i came across google, nothing worked. When we remove printerWe cannot print on that printer, it mean that computer disconnect with printer. Please Tell more solution!
